Full-time: Newcastle Knights 27-6 Brisbane Broncos

Full-time at the Central Coast Stadium as the Newcastle Knights cruise to a 27-6 victory against the out-of-form Broncos side.

It was another disappointing performance from Anthony Seibold’s men who remain without a win since the NRL’s return.

However its a return to form for the Knights who bounce back from last weeks defeat to the Storm in some style!

There’s still time for one more Knights score as Mitchell Pierce collects the ball five metres out and shows some nice footwork to skip past Haas and crash over under the sticks.

The intensity of the game has dropped slightly as the Knights cruise towards their fifth win of the season.

Meanwhile the Broncos look set to lose their fourth consecutive match since the restart and in all honesty, they’ve looked second best all night.

Bit of a strange decision given that they are playing against 12 but the Knights opt for the two and Ponga makes no mistake.

59’ | Sin Bin Broncos

It’s a second yellow card of the night for the Broncos as Carrigan is sent to the bin for his late challenge.

Fairly straightforward call for the ref was that one.

Patrick Carrigan goes in very late on Mitchell Pierce as the referee awards the Knights a penalty.

The Knights players don’t take kindly to that effort and theres a scuffle between the two sets of players.

We have a first Captains Challenge of the night and its a successful one for the Knights who win the penalty for an illegal steal.

Well thats come against the run of play!

It has been all Knights as they look to make their man advantage count but it’s the Broncos who have got themselves back into this one.

Broncos poor run to continue?

The Brisbane Broncos have had a torrid time since the restart of the NRL, losing all three of their games since the return.

They have suffered blowout losses to the Eels and the Roosters before letting an 18-0 lead slip in their loss to the Sea Eagles last time out.

They need to get back to winning ways - and fast - as the pressure begins to mount on head coach Anthony Seibold.
