The women's curling team coached by 2002 olympic gold medalist Rhona Martin made light work of their USA counterparts in their second match of the 2014 Winter Olympics running out eventual 12-3 winners.

Eve Muirhead's all Scottish crew bounched back after defeat in their first game against reigning olympic champions Sweden by sending the USA team to their second consecutive defeat. Great Britain equalled the olympic curling record score of 12-3, they also set an olympic record by scoring seven stones in end four beating the previous record of five.

After taking a 9-1 lead in the fourth end the match was all but over, with six ends needing to be played to constitute a match the USA team went through the motions. After Eve played the final stone in the sixth end scoring GB another three points the USA team shook hands to mark the end of the match.

The Great Britain team will look to build of this result as they face Canada tomorrow it what will no doubt be a more even affair.

Eve will also be pleased that she was able to overcome any issues that hampered her in the first match and led by example in what can only be described as a faultless tactical game.
