The Hawks came back to Philips Arena one day after a nine-point loss to the Washington Wizards in which they rested all five of their starters. The Hawks did not have Paul Millsap, Dennis Schroder, and Pero Antic due to rest. Thabo Sefolosha remains out for the season with a fractured fibula.

The Hawks got out to a quick 11-2 start and shot 5 of 7 halfway through he first quarter. The Knicks then cut it to two at 18-16. A Tim Hardaway Jr. three pointer helped erase the deficit to give New York their first lead at 20-19. The Hawks got a bucket from Kent Bazemore to get the lead back at 22-21, but that was their last lead of the first half. A Tim Hardaway Jr. and-one play helped extend the lead to 31-25 for the Knicks. Three Kyle Korver free throws helped the Hawks cut it to 31-28, but they trailed 32-28 after the end of the first quarter.

The Knicks quickly got out to a 39-30 lead early in the second quarter. Another finesse Hardaway Jr. and-one play pushed the lead to 10 points at 42-32. Al Horford cut it to six for the Hawks at 44-38 with seven minutes left, but the Knicks continued to carry their momentum and coasted to a 62-49 halftime lead.

An early third quarter slam by Al Horford made the deficit 64-56. The Knicks' Cleanthony Early quickly silenced the Hawks' early momentum with a three pointer that increased the Knicks lead up to 13, 81-68. A Kent Bazemore alley-oop play cut the deficit to single digits at 81-73 with 2:30 left in the period. A Kyle Korver three pointer then made it a 83-76 game. Atlanta trailed New York 83-78 after three quarters with momentum on their side.

The Hawks brought their late third quarter heroics to the beginning of the fourth quarter as Kyle Korver immediately knocked down a four-point play to make it a 85-82 game. Atlanta was on a 14-4 run. Shelvin Mack helped tie the game for the Hawks at 87 with 9:40 left. New York then went on a tear as they knocked down three straight three pointers, and it was back to a nine-point game at 96-87. Three pointers by Shelvin Mack and DeMarre Carroll cut it back to three at 102-99. Jason Smith extended the lead to 109-103 on an and-one play. Smith had 20 points for the game. Korver hit another clutch three for the Hawks to make it a 109-106 game with 51 seconds left. Korver had 19 points. Mike Muscala then made it 109-108, but two free throws by Tim Hardaway Jr. sealed the game at 112-108 with 13.3 seconds left.

The Hawks have completed their last home game of the regular season and will take on the Chicago Bulls on the road on April 15th to wrap up their last game before the playoffs. The Knicks will wrap up their season at home on April 15th versus the Detroit Pistons.
