The NBA G-League is on a mission, as they created the pathway program in order to recruit top high school recruits, and persuade them to go pro instead of taking the college route.

This means that a new professional basketball team is coming to the Bay Area. Shams Charania from The Athletic reported that the G-League has decided on a location for its new Pro Pathway team, at Walnut Creek, California.

Several elite prospects have signed contracts with the squad, and Oakland native Brian Shaw is expected to be the team's head coach.

The professional pathway program has players like Jalen Green and  Jonathan Kuminga, who are both projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Also, two International teens signed with the squad, including Kai Sotto from the Philippines and Princepal Singh from India.

The Ultimate Fieldhouse Sports Complex is expected to be the team's home.
