As many people know, J Cole has been characterized for being in the gym working on his game throughout the year, but never anyone expected he would take it any further than that.

Rapper Master P, told TMZ Sports that Cole is training to be in the NBA next season.

P, who made the pre-season squads for the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets in the late 1990s, confirmed J Cole will put music on hold for a minute, as he focuses on making a NBA team.

“When I talked to J. Cole, he was like, ‘You know, big dog, you did it. What do you think I would have to do to make it happen?’”, Master P said.

Cole actually played high school basketball at Terry Sanford, and then opted to be a walk-on at St. John's University, prior to quitting the team and focusing on his academics.

Chris Brickley, the famous NBA skills trainer, has uploaded many videos of Cole working out at the gym 'LifeTime Athletic' in New York City. Brickley has even previously stated that Cole is good enough to be a D1 Hooper, so it shouldn't surprise us to see him try out for a team in the future.

The Detroit Pistons even offered Cole a try-out through twitter.
