Tommy Tuberville is getting ready to finally start the football season as the Head Coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats in his second season there since bolting from Texas Tech to become their head coach. Last year he had Munchie Legaux as his starting quarterback, but he was injured early in the season and had to go with a backup in Jarred Evans. Gunner Kiel was highly recruited out of high school and ended up going to Notre Dame, but decided to transfer after Everett Golson became the starting quarterback during their run to the National Championship game.

The Bearcats will be playing their home games at Paul Brown Stadium due to some renovations at their actual home stadium. They will finally take the field for their season opener on Friday, September 12, 2014 against the Toledo Rockets. Toledo of course has already lost their starting quarterback for the season due to injury in the game against Missouri this past Saturday. Phillip Ely will be missed and Toledo will look to win an in-state game against a better team, even if Cincinnati is no longer part of the power 5 conferences. The Bearcats and Rockets should be a thrilling game for residents in Ohio this Friday. Kiel is ready to play as a collegiate athlete and as a Bearcat for the first time.
