Beathard went 5 of 9 for 69 yards, as Marshall Koehn hit a 28 yard field goal with to head in to halftime at 10-10.

Iowa had a chance to break the deadlock midway through the third quarter, but C.J. Beathard's pass to Kevonte Martin-Manley was incomplete. However, those two would hookup for a touchdown later in the third quarter. That one came from 23 yards out to give Iowa the 17-10 lead.

Mark Weisman added his second touchdown of the day from 5 yards out with a little over 5 minutes left to make it 24-10. Iowa had a chance to extend the lead further after John Lowdermilk's interception, but their drive ended with Purdue's Sean Robinson breaking up the fourth and goal pass.

Kevonte Martin-Manley was the top receiver for the Hawkeyes with 5 catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Damond Powell caught 2 passes for 53 yards while Jonathan Parker had 43 yards on 2 catches.
