Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos says that he is flattered by the interest that Manchester United have shown in him, and he hinted he could leave the French club in the summer.
Marquinhos is seen as one of the most highly regarded young talents in the world, but has struggled to establish himself in the PSG team in a constant basis as he is up against Thiago Silva and David Luiz, and the defender says he may have to leave to get more game time.
Marquinhos pleased with United's interest in him
Marquinhos on United's reported interest in wanting sign him said "it's my pleasure. It means that we work well" and he would be the type of singing that United need as they need a good defender brought in to stabilise their backline.
United are lacking in the central defensive area with only Chris Smalling and Phil Jones as regular first teamers. Daley Blind is having to fill in at centre-back for most of the season, and the likelihood is United will be trying to add to that area sometime in the next two transfer windows.
Marquinhos wants more game time
On the lack of playing time he is getting at PSG, Marquinhos said that he "will continue to get my place. You can just get used to sitting on the bench" and while he is at PSG it will probably only continue unless PSG decide to make him first choice soon.
Marquinhos continued to say "There are six months left for PSG to win titles. After that, we'll see what happens" and if he does indeed leave then United would be at the front of the queue for him as he young enough to be at the top for many more years to come.
Big clubs will want to sign Marquinhos if he does leave
Marquinhos has been coveted by the big clubs over the last few transfer windows with Chelsea one of the clubs said to be interested in his signature, so it shows the quality he has, and with him only being 21 years of age he will only get better, and United must try and sign him if possible.
