Guardiola on Klopp
"In the Premier League it's the last time, but maybe we'll meet in the FA Cup. We'll see."
When announcing his departure, Klopp hinted at the possibility of retirement, saying he didn't know if he could do the job "again and again and again". Guardiola, however, does not believe that the German coach will end his career as a manager.
"I completely respect his decision (to step down), but I have the feeling that he'll be back sooner or later. I don't think it will be the last time (we face each other). He's young, so am I. It's always been a pleasure (to face Klopp), and it will be again (Sunday)," added the Spaniard.
Nothing decided!
Klopp said that no one should celebrate the title if they pick up three points this weekend.
"In the last decade, Manchester City are definitely the most successful soccer club in England and maybe in Europe."
"They're always big games [against City] and probably always will be," said Klopp. "Someone said it will be the decider in the title race, but if we go through all the different possible scenarios, I don't think anyone should pop the champagne bottles after the game, regardless of the result."
"Nothing will be decided, but it's three points. They're a huge, incredible and strong opponent, we don't hide that. We want to win this game knowing how difficult it is," he concluded.
Klopp says Guardiola is 'best coach in the world'
At a press conference on Friday, Jürgen Klopp heaped praise on his historic Spanish rival Pep Guardiola and called him the "best coach in the world" today, as well as naming Manchester City's three most dangerous players.
"I'm not sure how many times at this club you say how much you respect the opponent and mean it," said Klopp. "Pep is the best coach in the world, I have no problem saying [that and I'm] having a very good life, even if I'm not close to it."
"They have incredible players at the moment, probably the best number nine in the world at the moment (Erling Haaland), Kevin De Bruyne will go down in history as one of the best players and Phil Foden, who is one of the best English players at the moment."
DM
Liverpool, coming off the back of an away win against Sparta Prague in the Europa League, should be able to count on the return of Salah, who has recovered from injury, to the starting line-up. But there are many names in the medical department - Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gravenberch and Diogo Jota are some of them.
On the Manchester City side, Grealish is the only confirmed casualty. Matheus Nunes and Doku are doubts for the match.
Klopp vs. Guardiola in England:
21 games
8 wins for Klopp
7 draws
6 wins for Guardiola
The Last dance?
The big game could also mark the "last dance" of a duel between the country's most outstanding managers of recent years. With his departure announced for the end of the season at Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp faces Pep Guardiola in a bid to end City's hegemony as champions of the last three editions.
Liverpool:
Liverpool, who opened the day in first place, have 63 points and are on the back of four straight wins in the competition. Manchester City, on 62, haven't lost in the league since December last year. Arsenal, with a game in hand, have 64.
Worth the lead!
A match that looks like a decider is the big attraction of the day in the Premier League. Separated by one point at the top of the table, Liverpool and Manchester City meet at 10:45 am ET at Anfield. Whoever wins takes the lead, and a draw keeps Arsenal, who beat Brentford on Saturday, at the top.

Klopp x Guardiola
Klopp and Guardiola end golden era in English soccer
Coaches face each other for the last time in the Premier League after seven years of mutual admiration and intense rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester City.
With the announcement of Klopp's departure at the end of Liverpool's season, this Sunday's match momentarily brings to a close a story that will complete 30 chapters. Coincidentally - or just as fate would have it - the venue for the last meeting between the rivals in English soccer will be the same as the first: Anfield.
The only manager to overturn Manchester City's hegemony in the last five Premier League seasons, Klopp has a favorable record against Guardiola. In addition to the Premier League, the managers have faced each other in the Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and FA Super Cup.
Darwin Núñez
Uruguayan center-forward Darwin Nunez was once the target of heavy criticism due to mistakes on the pitch, but Núñez seems to have found his way back to scoring goals and is enjoying a "honeymoon" with the Reds' fans. This season, Núñez has made 39 appearances for Liverpool, scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists. In addition, the Uruguayan has scored 5 goals in his last 4 games, a great average of more than a goal a game.
The 24-year-old striker is one of Liverpool's standout performers and top scorers. In the current Premier League, Núñez has 10 goals and 7 assists in 25 matches. In addition, the Uruguayan is in excellent form and has scored eight goals in his last nine games. It's therefore a good bet that Darwin Núñez will score at any time during the match.
Manchester City
Manchester City are having an excellent campaign in the Premier League, with 19 wins, 5 draws and 3 defeats so far. The club is second in the table with 62 points. Liverpool, the current leaders, are one point ahead of the Cityzens.
That's why, in the final stretch of the season, this Sunday's clash between Liverpool and Manchester City is shaping up to be an early finale. In their last Premier League match, Manchester City beat their biggest rivals Manchester United 3-1, with attacking midfielder Phil Foden scoring twice and Norwegian Haaland closing the Red Devils' coffin.
Liverpool
With 19 wins, 6 draws and only two defeats, Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League with 63 points, one more than Manchester City, the current second-placed team. In their last league match, Liverpool beat Nottingham Forest 1-0, with a goal in stoppage time from Uruguayan Darwin Núñez.
In their most recent match, Liverpool thrashed Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic 5-1 in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16. Darwin Núñez (2), Mac Allister, Luis Diaz and Szoboszlai scored in the Reds' rout.
TIME AND PLACE!
At Anfield, Liverpool vs. Manchester City face off this Sunday afternoon (10) at 12:45 pm (Brasília time) in the 28th round of the Premier League 2023/24. Here are the best betting tips for this eagerly awaited clash between leaders and runners-up, which will be broadcast on ESPN and Star+.
As it's a clash between the league leaders and runners-up, the first 45 minutes are likely to be very busy, and given the quality of the squads, the chances of an early goal are high. As such, a good guess is that the first half will see more than one goal scored.
With two of the best attacks in the competition, the match promises to be a high-scoring affair, especially when it comes to top spot in the league. In addition, Manchester City's last three games have seen four goals or more, while five of Liverpool's last six games have seen the same. So another excellent guess is for the game to be more than three goals.
