Hodgson hints at rashford inclusion in Euro 2016 squad
Rashford has started the last three games for United, scoring four goals, including two in the 3-2 win over Arsenal. He has been impressing everyone who has been watching him. Rashford, though, has only been capped at under-18 level for England, but Hodgson says he could be part of the senior squad this summer.
Hodgson, when asked about whether Rashford could be in his squad for the Euros, he replied saying "I would neither rule him in or rule him out, I just hope he can do well" as the hope is he can keep up his blistering start until the end of the season and then he might get called up to the squad.
Hodgson has been monitoring Rashford's progress
Before breaking onto the scene with United not many people had heard of Rashford, but Hodgson reveals he has been watching him for a while saying "I have been watching Rashford for two years, so I have known about him for a long time. He is in our system" which shows that he is in the thoughts of everyone involved in the England management.
The news of a possible England call-up for Rashford has seen a lot of United fans saying that it is too early for Hodgson to be calling him up. The fans are right in this instance as they don't want him to get burnt out at such a young age.
Hodgson is happy Rashford is getting a chance to play at United
Hodgson though, is just happy to see that Rashford is being given a chance at United at such a young age saying "I hope he is allowed to develop as an 18-year-old should and people don't try and put him under enormous pressure" which is right as people should give him more time to keep developing.
Rashford is set to get a lot more chances at United due to the injury to Wayne Rooney and now it is up to him to keep up his great form. Hodgson feels that "scoring four goals in three games is a great achievement. If he can keep that up, it is great for Manchester United and England".
