St. Louis will be a place that Kimbo Slice (5-2) won’t forget anytime soon. In astonishing fashion he finished Ken Shamrock (28-16) with a first round KO. After getting in trouble on the ground early Kimbo was able to stave off the submission and and regain his footing.Once they were back standing it was all Kimbo as he laid out a heavy combination that clip and dented the forehead of Shamrock and sent him to the canvas. John McCarthy stopped the fight and the enigma that is Kimbo Slice lives on for another day.

Never count the Bellator featherweight champion Patricio Freire (24-2) out. After a first round that saw Dan Weichel (35-9) almost stop him in the first round Pitbull hit him with a hook to the chin in the second that sent Dan to the mat. Clearly Dan allowed Patricio to recover and that was his undoing. The power of Pitbull is undeniable and proves why he is still one of the most dangerous featherweights in mixed martial arts today.

Bobby Lashley (13-2) came in with a  game plan to execute his wrestling and he did just that. After eating a few kicks from Dan Charles (9-3) he started his work. Lashley landed takedown after takedown using his wrestling to his advantage. Deep in the first round you could tell that it already started to slow down Charles and in the second it became apparent early. Three ferocious slams by Lashley put a worried look on the face of Charles and in the second round after a few good shots to the head referee John McCarthy called the fight.

Daniel Straus (24-6) came out as a man possessed and brought the fight to Henry Corrales (12-1). The fighters had a brief feeling out moment but soon he was able to unleash his assault. He almost pulled off a submission at the end of the first round. Once the second started he hit Corrales with a great uppercut that sent him to the mat. Soon he  landed a great takedown and and went to work. He finally found a modified guillotine and pulled off the finish for a hellacious victory.

No better way to kick off the main card then with the hometown favorite. Michael Chandler (13-3) came out to a thunderous ovation and the crowd fueled him to victory. He hurt Derek Campos (15-5) early with a great jab and many thought the fight would be over. Derek was finally able to gain his footing but was quickly snatched back to the ground by Chandler, and as the chants of M-I-Z continued to amplify he sunk the hooks in to pull of the submission 2:17 in the 1st rounds. There truly could not be a better way to kick off  the main card.
