The show opens with Pentagon Jr. talking to his master about how to trap his latest sacrifice.  We hear his master’s voice for the first time.  He tells Pentagon to get what he wants he must play on the ego of his target.  He then promises to get Ian Hodgkinson as a sacrifice to his master.

Cool opening sequence, but who is Ian Hodgkinson?  A vampire of course!

The opening match will be singles competition between the Mack and Cage.  These two start superfast with various quick exchanges and a missed Moonsalt by Cage.  Vampiro points out that Cage has only been pinned once during his run in LU, when he lost to Puma with the help of Konnan’s cane.  Mack connects with a huge flying knee from the second rope.  The Mack then connects with an exploder suplex into the turnbuckle both were well-executed spots.

Mack misses a Frog Splash and then gets hit with the Discus Clothesline, but Mack kicks out at two.  Mack gets Cage into a schoolboy and uses his weight to hold Cage down and steal the win.  Cage is extremely upset post match.

The Mack and Cage had been impressive against each other in all their tag matches, so this was good booking.  Vampiro pointed out how these two are way more entertaining than any two big men in other companies, which is totally true.  We are likely to be treated to a rematch of these two in the next few weeks or on the finale and they will probably take the action up a level.

We cut to Catrina in the locker room confronting Son of Havoc.  She warns him that her Disciples are coming for the Trio’s gold, but tonight Mil is coming for him.  Ivelisse enters the frame and attempts to grab Catrina, but the lights go out and she ends up on top of Havoc.  Angelico then sees them and says he hopes they are not getting back together.

Another fun segment, that sets up a match later in the show and continues to build towards the Trio’s match between the Champs and Catrina’s Disciples of Death at Ultima Lucha.

We cut to an interview between Vampiro and Pentagon Jr.  Vamp opens the segment by apologizing for interfering in Pentagon’s business recently.  He asks Pentagon who is his mysterious Master.  Pentagon does not respond.  Vamp then tells Pentagon that his is aggressive and destructive.  Pentagon says that he and Vampiro were very much alike once, but he asks if now Vampiro has become a coward.  This angers Vampiro.  Pentagon then challenges him to a match at Ultima Lucha, but Vampiro says his career is over.  Pentagon threatens Vampiro before storming off.

This was a great segment continuing to get both men over.  It seems likely they will meet at Ultima Lucha unless someone steps into Champion for Vamp.  The truth be told Pentagon is probably the biggest heel in Lucha, but they have chosen to push Mil Muertes ahead of him.  Pentagon just has a more vicious presence and even though he speaks Spanish he cuts his own promos and comes off stronger for it.  Mil is great, but Pentagon has a special kind of charisma.

Our next match is a singles contest between Mil Muertes with Catrina and Son of Havoc accompanied by Ivelisse and Angelico.  Havoc is way over with the crowd.  It’s truly amazing considering how far down the card he was to start the season.  Havoc starts by hitting his chest rope reversal into a flying elbow.  Mil takes a few more moves from Havoc before tossing him easily over the top rope.  He then tosses Havoc into a row of chairs before power bombing him onto the announce table.

Havoc takes some punishment, but manages to get back on the offensive hitting a dive through the ropes on Mil followed by a double back stomp off the top rope.  Mil catches Havoc in a choke, but he escapes using an awesome reversal.  Mil then avoids the Shooting Star Press.  With both men laid out Catrina confronts Angelico on the outside.  Ivelisse comes over to stop her and suddenly the Disciples appear to take out Angelico.  Catrina chokes down Ivelisse, but Havoc jump over the ropes and takes out the Disciples.

Havoc returns to the ring and gets caught be a huge clothesline.  Mil then hit his spear followed by the Flatliner for the pin and the win.  Catrina gives the lick of death post match on Havoc.

This was absolutely awesome.  Mil works extremely well with guys like Havoc.  Havoc is way over with the crowd, which really takes things up a gear.  The booking did everything it could to protect Havoc, but in the end this is yet another win to keep Mil hot and Catrina’s crew looking dangerous.  The heat between the Trio’s teams is well built.  The Champs are getting painted as the underdogs and that’s helping to put over the Disciples as a viable threat.  Considering they’ve had one match it’s good booking to help generate heat for them.

Texano is out to cut a promo in English.  He talks about not being a nice guy and enjoying beating people up.  He’s upset that Chavo who he thinks is a backstabber, and he expresses how much he hates him.  He lays out a challenge to Chavo at Ultima Lucha.  The Crew come out and to attack Texano.  Blue Demon Jr. is out to make the save.  Blue Demon then strikes Texano with a chair and gives him a beating.  He seems to have joined the Crew.  He claims that he is Mexico and he will meet Texano at Ultima Lucha.

This was a teally cool segment setup by Chavo messing with Blue Demon’s head last week.  Chavo is clearly hurt and can’t fight at Ultima Lucha anyway.  Blue Demon spoke in English, which was cool as well.  This should be another fun match for the finale.  The card is really taking shape.

The first Atomicos match on LU will main event the show as Team Alberto consisting of Sexy Star, Aerostar and Drago will take on Team Johnny consisting of Hernandez, Jack Evans, and Super Fly.  Drago and Hernandez were announced pre-match for Ultima Lucha.  There are beefs between the members of the opposing teams, but otherwise this is just an eight-man tag Lucha style.

Mundo spends times staying away from Patron as much as possible.  We get many tags and fun moves in a very fast paced match.  Alberto starts taking a beat down and gets isolated from his team.  Aerostar catches the hot tag.  He then connects with an insane pack drop onto Evans and Superfly.  Drago then connects with a splash of his own onto all three men.  Sexy Star then splashes that group with a corkscrew dive.

Alberto chases Patron out of the arena.  Patron returns after a short time.  Mundo follows suit moments later.  Hernandez hits a huge Blue Thunder Bomb on Aerostar, but he kicks out at two.  Aerostar is now isolated by Mundo’s team.  Sexy Star catches a hot tag.  She hits Mundo with a really stiff tilt-o-world head scissors.  The match starts breaking down from there.

Jack Evans get caught in the cross arm breaker by Alberto, but Mundo makes the save with the end of the world on him.  Sexy Star tries to make the save, but gets caught in a roll up and Mundo holds her tights to get the win.

Another great main event that could have been longer considering how many men were involved, but it accomplished the goal of feeding the feuds that were intertwined in the match and put more heat on Mundo.

Striker announces that next week Prince Puma will have a face to face with Mil Muertes.  Suddenly out of nowhere Pentagon hits Vampiro with a Superkick and then a few chair shots.  He claims that he’s going to make a sacrifice to his Master.  Pentagon then grabs a can of gasoline and pours it on Vampiro.

He tells Vampiro that he will burn him alive and his family unless he accepts his challenge for Ultima Lucha.  He tells Vampiro that he has a week to decide and then blows out the lighter and the show ends.

It was yet another awesome and surprising segment by the creative of LU.  Pentagon could take on an empty beer can at Ultima Lucha at this point.  He’s just got a ton of charisma, and he has a chance with Vampiro to steal the show at Ultima Lucha as that match will certainly happen now.

LU is usually a solid show, but this show was one of their best.  They get a lot of storytelling done in an hour and give you good solid in ring action.  Because they have spent so much time building characters over the past year every match seems to have a higher level of intensity.  Fans are invested in characters like Son of Havoc, so despite knowing that he’s not going to beat the #1 contender fans still find themselves rooting along.

This show also booked several matches for Ultima Lucha.  The show that to this point had two matches now has about 6 possibly seven and with about a month to go for that show LU has stirred the pot nicely and set the stage well in advance something WWE rarely does anymore for any event they hold.  That well paced build up will have fans chomping at the bit for that show.
