Chad Voytik To Transfer From Pittsburgh

After being the University of Pittsburgh's starting quarterback in 2014 under Paul Chryst, Chad Voytik saw University of Tennessee transfer Nate Peterman take his starting job and keep it throughout the season. With Peterman being the overwhelming favorite for the job in 2016, Voytik, who is now graduated, will be seeking a transfer from Pittsburgh.

With a year of eligibility left and now a graduate, University of Pittsburgh quarterback Chad Voytik will be transferring from Pittsburgh as he looks to spend his last year of eligibility as a starter.

After being the Panther starting quarterback in 2014, which saw Voytik pass for 2,333 yards to go along with 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions. However, that was under now University of Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst

With Pat Narduzzi as the leader of the Panthers, Voytik saw his starting job slip out of his hands and fall to University of Tennessee transfer Nate Peterman. Peterman led the Panthers to an 8-5 record while passing for 2,287 yards, 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

With Peterman being the overwhelming favorite for the starting job next season, Voytik has decided to seek a transfer as a grad transfer, making him available to play right away next season.

One program that can make a lot of sense for Voytik is the Memphis program, who will have to replace future NFL quarterback Paxton Lynch next season. A Cleveland, Tennessee native, Memphis would bring Voytik closer to home for his final college season. However, Mike Norvell's  air raid offense may not suit Voytik the best.

Another potential destination which would provide more competition for the starting job is the University of Wisconsin where he could join his former head coach. Wisconsin's offense which focuses more on the ground game historically could be a great fit for Voytik. Not to mention the familiar relationship between Chryst and Voytik, which could be a vital part of Voytik's decision.

Voytik has the skills to be an above-average starter at the division one level. With a history of good decision making, Voytik could help lead numerous programs to winning records next season. However, it will be interesting to see how he would adjust to potentially not having a top wide receiver target like Tyler Boyd at his disposal, depending on where he decides to go.
