Manchester City will travel to the King Power Stadium for the second time in just over one week, as they this time face Leicester City in the Premier League.

Claude Puel's men will be seeking revenge on Pep Guardiola and his side after they knocked them out of the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on penalties last week.

City looking to bounce back

Last time out, City suffered their first home loss of the season, as Crystal Palace shocked everyone with a 3-2 win at the Etihad.

Guardiola opted to not risk Sergio Aguero or Kevin de Bruyne as the two continue their return from injury, although, this time is likely to field his strongest possible 11, as the Blues simply can't afford another setback in their title challenge.

Fernandinho, David Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Claudio Bravo are still likely to be out through injury, however, with the quality in the City squad, they should be able to cope with a few injuries.

Guardiola was not happy with his defence after the Palace game.

“We cannot concede the penalty we conceded, we have to try and avoid it,” Guardiola said following Kyle Walker's rash challenge on Max Meyer. “We had just made some changes and decided to play with two strikers to try to get back in the game, then straight away we give away a penalty and a third goal.”

As a result of this, it is possible that the Spaniard could make a few defensive changes.

Man City predicted XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Delph; Gundogan, de Bruyne, Bernardo; Sterling, Sane, Aguero.

Under pressure Puel?

Before the weekend's fixtures, it was reported that Puel had three games to turn fortunes around at the King Power, in order to keep his job.

Whilst City were beaten at home by Palace, the other notable shock of the day was at Stamford Bridge, where Jamie Vardy's second-half strike gave the Foxes all three points.

As a result of this, the pressure could be lifted on Puel, although overturning the Champions would also help the case of him keeping his job, give the squad a boost, and possibly lift them as high as seventh.

Matty James and Daniel Amartey will miss the game through injury, whilst Rachid Ghezzal is suspended.

It is possible that the Foxes will opt to go unchanged, following a near-perfect, confidence boosting performance at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester City predicted XI: Schmeichel; Ricardo, Morgan, Maguire, Chilwell; Choudhury, Mendy, Ndidi, Albrighton, Maddison; Vardy.

The added spice of Leicester seeking revenge on last weeks encounter, as well performing superbly at the weekend, mixed in with the fact that City simply have to win this one, could mean that we have two very motivated teams and the possibility of one of the games of the day in a packed Premier League Boxing Day schedule.
