West Ham have completed their first piece of transfer business, announcing a deal to sign Birmingham City goalkeeper Darren Randolph - who'll join the club at the end of June when his current contract with the Sky Bet Championship team expires.

The Hammers will be hoping he can rival Adrían as their first-choice goalkeeper with Jussi Jaaskelainen having been released, and their other goalkeepers are not yet ready for the challenge of regular first-team football. The 28-year-old has played all but one of Birmingham's matches in the past two seasons combined, and he's made over 300 senior appearances during his career, so he joins the east Londoners with a wealth of experience under his belt.

He had this to say: "My initial reaction to joining West Ham is excitment, it was a tough decision turning down Birmingham's offer of a new contract because of the second part of the season we had and the team we had built. They are a great group of lads and staff but I felt like I couldn't turn down the chance of joining a club like West Ham. Everybody wants to try and get to the top of their profession and I'm no different.
