The shock announcement of Mick Foley as the RAW general manager was met with pleasant surprise as the bland expected choice of either Triple H or Kane left much to be desired in the new era.

Despite the hardcore legend being 51-years-old, he has always been and forever will be a crowd favorite and he shares his two cents on the rivalry with SmackDown Live!

The former WWE, WCW and ECW performer is now ever more present on social media and he took to his Facebook page to comment on the RAW versus SmackDown Live rivalry.

Foley was keen to put to rest the suggestion that the power struggle is fabricated and wanted to assure fans that the battle for ratings is 100% real.

He said "Make no mistake about it – the competition between WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown Live is real. The competition between Stephanie McMahon - WWE and Shane McMahon is very real, and to some extent, so is the competition between me and Daniel Bryan."

Good Ol' Saint Mick is well aware of the popularity that the SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan possesses which only increases the sense of competition between the two shows.

With RAW producing one of its most exciting and freshest shows in recent memory, Foley felt himself and commissioner Stephanie McMahon "hit it out of the park."

He said "No one wants to be reminded constantly by their own son that the other general manager is more popular than you are. But you'd be wrong if you think I want ‪#‎SmackdownLIVE‬ to fail. I think it's fair to say that Stephanie and I - along with the ‪#‎WWE‬ Superstars - hit it out of the park (a baseball reference for my cricket-playing friends in the BritishCommonwealth countries) last night on ‪#‎RAW."

On Raw's dominance

The hardcore icon had a message that despite his nice guy attitude he was keen to convey even through the baby face embodied post.

Foley wanted to remind his audience just how good Monday Night Raw was and in all fairness he was right as he said "Between the incredible emotion of the Sasha Banks victory, the star-making debut of Finn Bálor and the new look and feel of the show, it was a towering homerun for the #RAW team."

With SmackDown Live also having an impressive show that saw a new no.1 contender crowned in Dolph Ziggler following a huge six-pack match, the veteran still feels that despite their efforts RAW will remain the flagship show.

He finished with "I sincerely want Daniel, Shane and the entire crew to hit it out of the park every week. Then we'll take those figurative tape-measures out, and figure out whose towering homerun traveled further. If you think it's #SmackdownLive, I'm afraid the answer is going to be NO, NO, NO! The tale of the tape will answer MICK and STEPH, STEPH, STEPH!"
