After a loss on the opening weekend of the season, the Chicago Red Stars have seemed to steady the ship and now are speeding through the rest of the NWSL. Sky Blue FC will be looking for a better defensive effort this weekend than the one they got last week. Against the
Sky Blue FC currently has a duo of USWNT players that are the main part of their squad. Kelley O'Hara and Christie Rampone are the top players that help keep things going. Rampone was recently ruled out of the USWNT camp which will help Sky Blue FC as she can focus on her domestic team. They will also be without winger Maya Hayes as she was ruled out for 2-4 weeks with an MCL sprain she suffered last Sunday.
The Sky Blue currently sit 6th in the NWSL table and are tied on points with Seattle and Houston who all have seven points.
Chicago looking to keep up offensive pressure
The game against Seattle saw the Red Stars score more than two goals in a game this season and they will be looking to keep up the pressure. It also helps that their opponents have given up the most goals in the NWSL this season (10).
Christen Press was held scoreless against Seattle but came close to hitting the back of the net. Press's shot rang off the underside of the crossbar and bounced out. She will be looking to get on the score sheet at home where she scored the game winning goal against the Orlando Pride a few weeks ago.
