Costless scoring Liverpool head to a ground where they have not won in the last four visits. In fact, they've lost the last four by a 2-1 scoreline. Tottenham host the Merseyside club having won more games away from home this season, with only one win in the last five.

The fortunes of both sides have been quite different, but the table fails to suggest that. Many would feel Liverpool are in impressive form. Despite a surprising 3-1 defeat at the hands of Hull City, Liverpool sit fifth in the table, boasting an impressive goal difference thanks to striker Luis Suarez, who has bagged 29 in his last 29 league games.

Tottenham on the other hand, have been largely underperforming this season. Only 15 goals all season, they currently sit on a -1 goal difference. That may well be down to a 6-0 thumping at Manchester City. Since that defeat though, the Lilywhites have picked up seven points in three games.

Tottenham will be without defenders Jan Vertonghen and Younes Kaboul, whilst any inkling of a defensive crisis will be discovered later today, when the conditions of fellow defenders Vlad Chiriches and Danny Rose will come to light. Midfielder Christian Eriksen will be assessed ahead of the game, as his return from injury was just three days ago.

Liverpool will be without captain Steven Gerrard. Fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson is a doubt with a bruised ankle, whilst Daniel Agger misses out through illness. Daniel Sturridge is still out through a long term injury.

The last time these sides met in North London, Gareth Bale scored for both sides. The Welshman is no longer with Spurs, so could someone else step up and steal the limelight?
