For Jack Wilshere, smoking has never been a serious offence, but as a role-model to millions of young footballers, the importance of being a model-professional, especially as a Premier League and England International player is paramount.

Children and footballers all over the World look up to their Premier League idols and with a World Cup just gone is it time footballers started taking their responsibilites more seriously.

Many fans would feel participating in this years World Cup in Brazil would have been enough of a holiday, but Wilshere met up with friends and fellow England stars Joe Hart and James Milner at a pool party in Vegas.

Its not the first time the Arsenal midfielder has been pictured lighting up a cigarette. October of last year Wilshere was pictured smoking outside a nightclub, which sparked a huge uproar with the players manager Arsene Wenger fearing for his midfielders health.

Wilshere said at the time: "I made a mistake, players make mistakes, I'm not a smoker." But in light of recent pictures, people are starting to doubt that statement.

It appears that once again Wenger will have cause for concern regarding his talented midfielder and with a succesful future predicted ahead for the Englishman, it is a habit that Wenger will have to make sure he stamps out if he is to fulfil his potential.

Wenger said back in October that “The fact is you can damage your health at home, you can smoke at home and you can drink at home, and nobody sees it, but when you go out socially you as well damage your reputation as an example.”

When Wilshere was pictured in the cigarette incident back in October, he took to twitter to defend himself, uploading a picture of Zinedine Zidane smoking and shortly after tweeting "But for the record.... I don't smoke!"

However, in light of the most recent smokestorm that has blown over the midfielder, he has chosen not to take to twitter and hasn't commented.
