According to the Daily Mail, Ajax are in advanced talks to take Arsenal's out-of-favour striker Yaya Sanogo on a season long loan.

The 22-year-old striker is yet to make much of an impact since his move from French side Auxerre in 2013, and could be the latest player to be moved on this summer.

He was not included in the Arsenal squad selected for their trip to Singapore as part of the Barclays Asia trophy, and missed Arsenal's 4-0 victory over a Singapore select XI this week.

Sanogo's Arsenal career so far

When Sanogo scored his first competitive goal for Arsenal on the 26th November 2014 in a crucial 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage, it was thought that he may kick on after this, but first team opportunities were few and far between after that.

In January of this year, he was loaned out to Crystal Palace where Arsene Wenger had hoped he would gain some invaluable Premier League experience, however a combination of injury and poor performances limited him to just 10 appearances at Selhurst Park.

The question with Sanogo isn't whether he has talent, it is more if he can stay fit and improve those skills he already has.

He has played at every level for France apart from the senior squad, first coming to the attention of the football world when he won the FIFA under-20 World Cup in 2013, France's very first one. Sanogo was their top goalscorer in the process, netting four times in the competition.

Ajax move could benefit all parties involved

At 6ft 4in, he has all the attributes to be a very successful target man, but at this stage of his career he is yet to hone his skills effectively to become a regular threat.

Wenger will be hoping that Arsenal legend and now Ajax assistant manager Dennis Bergkamp, along with manager Frank De Boer, can turn around Sanogo's fortunes, who has only made 13 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since 2013.
