The London side have left Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches and Aaron Lennon in the UK ahead of the prestigious friendly in Colorado this coming Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur have left four players out of their squad to face the MLS All-Stars tomorrow.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, Vlad Chiriches and Aaron Lennon are the four left in the UK, with all expected to leave the club before the transfer window closes shut at the end of August as Spurs' boss Mauricio Pochettinolines his current squad.

Ahead of Spurs' opening match of the Premier League away to Manchester United, Pochettino will be hoping to cut out any perceived deadwood before adding quality rather than quantity. The manager has already seen Lewis Holtby, Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Younes Kaboul and Benjamin Stambouli leave the club as he looks to build on the fifth placed finish in the 2014/15 campaign.

Adebayor unable to find form from loan spell

Since joining the North London side in the summer of 2012, following a highly successful loan spell, Adebayor has failed to hit the heights of his debut season at White Hart Lane - scoring 17 league goals during the loan spell, Tottenham spent around £5 million to make the deal permanent from Manchester City.

In his 69 appearances for Tottenham since this move, Togo's international captain has scored just 24 goals despite being the figurehead of the Tottenham attack for most of his time at the club.

Making only 10 appearances in all competitions in Pochettino’s debut season at the club, the writing has long been on the wall for the former Arsenal and Real Madrid man with his perceived lack of work rate and consistency.

With Adebayor one of the highest earners at the club, chairman Daniel Levy will be looking to clear the wage bill in order to bring through fresh striking talent - with West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino reportedly seen as a potential replacement.

Fellow Premier League side Aston Villa are thought to be close to sealing the transfer for Adebayor, who has just one year left on his deal at White Hart Lane, where the 31-year-old would join up with former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood.

Current Villa assistant Ray Wilkins recently expressed a potential interest in Adebayor, following the sale of key striker Christian Benteke to Liverpool. In an interview with talkSPORT, Wilkins stated that, whilst he "can only talk for [himself]," he is "hoping there is [a chance of the transfer]" as, "when Adebayor wants to play, he is extremely effective.”

Soldado yet to live up to price tag

Another striker likely to leave Tottenham this summer is the Spaniard Soldado. Having joined Spurs in August 2013 for a fee of up to £26 million, the forward has failed to meet the high standards he set himself in his home nation.

Scoring 59 goals in 101 for Spanish side Valencia, Soldado was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe before making the move to London.

However, during his time in the English capital, the 12 time capped Spanish international, with seven international goals to his name, has scored just 16 times in all competitions.

Despite making over 70 appearances for Tottenham in his two years at the club, Soldado has failed to show any of his goal-scoring instincts, averaging a goal every 4.4 games.

The striker does, however, still seem to have suitors and admirers in Spain ahead of a potential transfer in the coming weeks. La Liga side Villarreal have expressed an interest in Soldado in the past few days as they look to add goals to their side as, following the sale of forward Giovani Dos Santos to LA Galaxy, the team need a recognised established striker in Spain.

Vlad Chiriches

Romanian national side captain Chiriches is another who has failed to meet expectations following his transfer from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 2013 for a reported £8 million.

The central defender won plenty of admirers back home with his ability to bring the ball out of the back and afford more attacking players the luxury of pushing further up the pitch.

Compared to former Chelsea defender David Luiz for his erratic nature and unpredictability, Chiriches has struggled to adapt to the added responsibility in the Premier League.

Making 41 appearances in his two years at White Hart Lane, scoring two goals, the Romanian has failed to become a first team regular in the Premier League, being preferred in cup competitions.

With Tottenham already having signed fellow central defenders Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderwiereld, Chiriches looks set to move to Italy with a number of Serie A sides reportedly interested.

Fiorentina were thought to have been favourites for the Romanian, with a potential loan deal on the cards, but Napoli look to have won the race for the 25 year old.

Reports in Italy claim Napoli have struck a £4 million deal with Tottenham for the 32 time capped defender and Chiriches is expected to arrive in Naples in the coming days to discuss personal terms before undertaking a medical and completing the transfer.

Lennon likely to move on too

Lennon has long been synonymous with Tottenham, following his transfer from Leeds United in 2005. In his 10 years at White Hart Lane, Lennon has gone on to make 267 appearances in the white of Tottenham, scoring 26 goals.

Still only 28-years-old, Lennon has failed to convince Pochettino of his ability and influence on the pitch and thus spent the second half of last season on loan at Everton, where he played a key role in their improvements as the campaign went on.

Making 14 appearances for the Toffees, scoring two goals, Lennon looked set for a permanent move to the Merseyside club, however, that move has yet to come to fruition with Everton completing the signing of another winger in Gerard Deulofeu, who arrives from Barcelona.

With a month remaining in the transfer window, a move away from White Hart Lane on a permanent basis looks likely despite the reported asking price of £7 million putting some clubs off.

Injured Townsend hasn't travelled either

Tottenham will face the MLS All-Stars in Colorado tomorrow, though without Andros Townsend who is also in London as he recovers from a shoulder injury sustained in a behind closed doors friendly against Reading. Townsend is expected to be out for up to three weeks, making him a doubt for the first game of the season in Manchester.

When the season does kick off on August 8, however, Pochettino will be hoping to have completed all his desired business at White Hart Lane as he looks to bring together his 25-man squad as soon as possible.
