Manchester City required a Sergio Aguero brace to come from behind against Burnley.

Dean Marney's superb volley put the hosts ahead at Turf Moor, only for the Argentine to strike just before half-time.

A mix-up in the Clarets' defence gifted the former Atletico Madrid a striker a second goal after the interval, giving Pep Guardiola's side their second successive away victory.

How did each City player perform on a chilly Saturday afternoon?

Goalkeeper and Defence

Claudio Bravo - 7

Much maligned player in his first few weeks, but the Chilean 'keeper has really grown into his own in recent matches. A crucial save on the stroke of half-time kept the scores level, before two late saves preserved the 3 points. But this was, overall, a much better performance, as he was much more of a presence against a physical side and his catching was much improved.

Bacary Sagna - 5

Usually one of City's most reliably players; the ex-Arsenal right back didn't have one of his best afternoons in a City shirt. Showed a willingness to get forward, but was constantly caught out of position.

Nicolas Otamendi - 4

Looked lost at times in one of his poorer games. The City centre-back went to ground far too often. He needs a calming influence like Kompany or Stones next to him to get the best out of him. He cannot play alongside Kolarov at centre back.

Aleksandar Kolarov - 4

For years people have said that Kolarov's main asset is being an attacking left-back, as he is one of the best crossers of the ball at the club. However, he is just not a centre-back and he has a negative influence on Otamendi who needs a calmer presence next to him. Will be very surprised if he starts at centre back against Chelsea.

Gael Clichy - 5

Best of a bad bunch. Happy to move into defensive midfield and was untroubled for the most part, but just doesn't offer anything going forward and his passing wasn't good enough.

Midfield

Fernando - 8

An outstanding performance by Fernando in the sort of environment he thrives in. A hard fought away win, in which he won the ball almost every time and kept Burnley, who play largely through the centre, at bay. His passing was much improved also and he kept the game moving.

Fernandinho - 9

Another outstanding performance from the Brazillian. Wins the ball back, keeps it moving and even played a part in Aguero's second goal with a cut back. One of the players of the season so far.

Yaya Toure - 8

Struggled initially and started to play like the Toure of last season, but grew into the game and was both strong and creative in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne or David Silva. Could be integral to this campaign.

Attack

RW- Raheem Sterling - 6

Not Sterling's best game because he was hesitant in front of goal and regularly struggles in games as physical as this. However, worked hard and responded well to the shameful abuse coming from the Burnley faithful.

LW- Nolito - 6

Similar to Sterling. A hard working performance and linked up well with Aguero, but went missing at times.

ST- Sergio Aguero - 8

Not his most memorable goals for the club, but twice in the right place at the right time, as any clinical striker should. Where would City be without him?
