Full-time
It's ends goalless here at the Etihad Stadium but City go through comfortably 5-0 on aggregate.

Sterling should have scored at the death. Brilliant link-up play between himself and McAtee but he fires into the side netting.

Scott Carson comes on for Ederson to the biggest cheer of the game.
67' 0-0
Defence-splitting pass from Fernandinho but Mahrez's cross is diverted away with Sterling lurking for a tap-in.
64' 0-0
It's Sporting's turn to ask the questions here at the Etihad but there is still no goals to report.
58' 0-0
The Sporting fans are enjoying themselves at least.
They are doing the "Poznan" in the away end like the City supporters brought out on Sunday's derby win.
56' 0-0
McAtee has made an impact since his introduction.
Tees up Jesus but his effort is smothered.
47' No Goal
Jesus deceived the keeper as he fired in at the near post but it is chalked off for offside.
Great skill from Mahrez with a chance just before that.
Half-time : Substitutions
James McAtee and Riyad Mahrez are on as City try to get themselves ahead.
Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are those who make way.
Half-time
Not a lot to ride home about in the opening 45 minutes. Raheem Sterling with the only clear sight of goal at either end. Sporting asking questions but lacking penetration going forward.
Plenty of players warming up for City before the break. There could be changes.

The most-fouled player on the pitch Gabriel Jesus finds himself in the book ironically enough for a handball.

Terrific first time pass from Foden to Sterling but his attempted chip is saved by Adan.
30' 0-0
Disciplined defending from Sporting with City creating nothing clear cut to this point.
24' 0-0
Jesus asking for a penalty once more. Foden tries his luck from 25 yards but Adan bats it out for a corner.
23' Close
Jesus gets in behind and flashes a ball across the area but Sterling can't quite get there.
Still 0-0
15' 0-0
Yellow card for Sporting's number 21 Paulinho for a foul on City defender Aymeric Laporte.
No breakthrough as yet.
Message made clear in Manchester tonight:
12' 0-0
It remains goalless but interesting to note that Gabriel Jesus is again being deployed on the right while Phil Foden takes up the centre of a front three.
Sterling on the left.
9'
City have an appeal for a penalty waved away by the Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler.
Gabriel Jesus seemed to be bundled over inside the area.
Nothing doing.
3'
A lively start from Raheem Sterling, buzzing around the left-wing.
And we're off
Kick-off at the Etihad Stadium and we are underway.
Almost there:
We are almost ready for kick-off with the players now walking out from the tunnel.
Pep on Egan-Riley selection:
"We don't have a few more alternatives, we know him. Many years in the academy and training with us regularly. So stable person and player so I'm pretty sure he'll do a good game.
Century for Dinho
100 - @Fernandinho is set to make his 100th Champions League appearance, the 44th player overall to reach this milestone and the fourth Brazilian, after Roberto Carlos, Dani Alves and Marcelo. His debut came back in September 2006 with Shakhtar Donetsk, over 15 years ago. Legacy. pic.twitter.com/VC4e5iz2Yi

Sporting coach Ruben Amorim on City's injuries:
"They are missing players but they have more than enough to put out a great team.
"They only need a few players. There are other players on the bench and looking at them, they could easily be first-team players.
"It will not make it easier. It is a small group but it is a group of huge quality. They are all first-team players. It doesn’t mean anyone can relax."
Guardiola says City have only 14 senior players available
"We have just 14 players available, we have a few problems with Kyle suspended and Joao is sick and can't play.
"We had an incredible game first leg, 5-0, but we still aren't through. We'll take a top side as much as possible to win the game. [Ake] is out too. Right now, we have just three defenders, not much. We have to adapt maybe with the second team, we will see what we have to do.
Pep on Walker's suspension:
"Kyle Walker deserved the three-match ban. When a player does a stupid thing he deserves a three-match ban. I am still so angry with him."
