Zverev into the final
Alexander Zverev wins the match 3-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 6-3
What a comeback by the German as looked to be lucky if he would last an hour and a half after getting dominated in those first two sets. He hung tough and wound up being the better player over the final three sets.
A real shame about Carreno Busta's injury just before the fifth set began. You wonder how different the outcome would have been if he hadn't gotten hurt, but he's announced himself to be back in the thick of the chase.
So Zverev awaits the winner of the second semifinal between third seed Daniil Medvedev and second seed Dominic Thiem in Saturday's championship match.
I'll be back in a few minutes with coverage of that second semifinal. This is John Lupo saying so long for now.

Carreno Busta then beat 12th seed Denis Shapovalov in five sets to reach his second US Open semifinal.
