Key player of Sweden

Mikael Ymer is a 23-year-old Swedish tennis player and is the best ranked player on his team. He is number 94 in the world and has had outstanding appearances in some tournaments, so much is expected of him in front of Sweden to advance to the Semifinals.

Sweden

On the other hand, Sweden qualified for the elimination phase of the Davis Cup 2021, finishing second in their group. They first beat Canada 3-0, but then failed to beat Kazakhstan and fell 1-2.

The Swedes really have little chance of winning this tournament, and the next match against Russia will resolve any doubts about it. We will see if they are capable of changing history.

Russia

The Russian Tennis Federation team had an excellent performance in the group stage of the Davis Cup 2021. First they defeated Ecuador 3-0 without problems and then the Spanish team 2-1. Germany already awaits the Russian or Swedish tennis players in the semi-finals of the tournament, after beating the British in the quarter-finals.

The Russian team reached this tonne that was initially considered the favorite, since the team has obtained excellent results and has the number two in the world. The Russians managed to win the ATP Cup, defeating a powerful Italy 2-0 in the final.

For the last ticket to the Semifinals

This Thuesday the fourth round of the 2021 Davis Cup quarterfinals between Russia and Sweden will take place. There is an obvious difference in the level of both teams, however, the spirit of this tournament does not allow to draw conclusions before the games.

Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev shouldn't have much trouble getting through the series against the Ymer brothers. Although already in the game, the advantages are equal since the Nordic couple usually have good performances every time they play together. The winner will get the last ticket to the semifinals where they will face Germany.

The match will be played at Madrid Arena

The Madrid Arena is a multipurpose pavilion located in the city of Madrid, in the Casa de Campo fairgrounds, a few minutes from the center of the capital. It was built from the old Rockódromo, with the aim of being part of a hypothetical Olympic Games in Madrid, being part of the Madrid 2012, Madrid 2016 and Madrid 2020 candidacies. It was inaugurated in July 2002 and has a maximum capacity for 12,000 people.

Thanks to its fully retractable bleachers, it allows adapting its capacity both in number and configuration to different uses: sports, shows or fairs. The façade is made up of a double curve of glass of variable transparency that surrounds the entire building.
