Brentford welcome Reading to Griffin Park this weekend, as the Bees look to record their second victory of the season. The Royals on the other hand remain winless after their opening four matches in the Championship, and an away win in London would be the perfect way to end their drought which has been backing up since their final day triumph against Derby County last season, which finished 3-0.

Head to head

The two sides last met at Griffin Park in October with the home side overcoming Reading 3-1, a victory inspired largely by Alex Pritchard ,who is no longer with the London club. Reading last hosted Brentford in April, but again Brentford came out victorious.

Home form

Brentford have yet to record a win at home this season, and after an impressive home record last campaign, the Brentford faithful will be eager to see attacking, exciting football return to the stadium, along with the three points that became a regular occurrence for the London club. Brentford picked up 42 points out of a possible 69, meaning that Griffin Park was a real fortress.

Away form

Reading, however, have had a poor start to their season in terms of their away form, with a draw and a defeat meaning the Royals remain winless in the league. This poor form comes as no surprise with just five away wins coming in their last 25 away matches.

Team news

In terms of team news, Nico Yennaris and Sam Saunders will both be back in contention for the home side, although the Londoners will still be without a few key members of their squad. Marcos Tebar misses out with a hamstring injury alongside Jota, who is suffering from an ankle injury, meaning two of the highest-profile names at the club are likely to miss out.

Reading have a full squad available for their trip to Brentford, although new signing Paulo Hurtado may not be risked and may have to wait for his debut. Nick Blackman and Garath McCleary are both in line to start for the Royals.

One to watch

With a potential match-winner in mind, look no further than Alan Judge. He has two goals to his name already this season, and has also netted three and assisted two more in his last four appearances against Reading.
