Kit Symons' Fulham side play host to Gary Bowyer's Blackburn Rovers in the early kick-off on Sunday afternoon.

The Cottagers have just one win in their first five league games, that solitary victory came last time out away to Rotherham United with the Londoners bagging a 3-1 victory. Fulham spent a lot of money in the summer, paying over £7million for the services of Tom Cairney, Jazz Richards, Richard Stearman, Tim Ream and Ryan Fredericks.

If they are to push on from making big seasons, early season momentum and making their home a fortress are key factors to any sort of success. A win at home to fellow strugglers Blackburn would fire them up into the top half, which would be a massive jump for the home side.

Blackburn are more worse off as they remain winless and stranded in the bottom three with Huddersfield Town and Rotherham respectively. They have just three points from their opening five games scoring a mere three goals.

Team news

Fulham have both Stearman and Fredericks available for Sunday's clash, but the defensive duo may have to be content with a place on the substitutes' bench after their new side emerged victorious at Rotherham last time out.

Cauley Woodrow could be preferred to Moussa Dembele in attack, while Cairney will line up against his former club. Blackburn will need to replace Modou Barrow on the substitutes' bench, after the winger was recalled to parent club Swansea City.

Danny Guthrie and Bengali-Fode Koita could earn a start after coming off the bench and impressing against Bolton Wanderers in their previous fixture.

Recent history

Both meetings last season ended in slender wins for Blackburn. The game at Ewood Park ended in a 2-1 victory for Rovers with Ben Marshall and Jordan Rhodes grabbing the goals, a consolation from Ross McCormack was not enough for Fulham on that occassion. The meeting at Craven Cottage took place a lot earlier in the season with Rhodes again being the match-winner for the visitors.

Fulham will be hoping to avoid the same fate, this time around though.
