17:05. Unfortunately, that's all we've got time for this afternoon. I've been Oliver Emmerson, taking you through the afternoon's action up and down the country. We've seen plenty of goals and what felt like even more red cards, but for now, time to go and check out our coverage of the tea-time kick-off - Brighton and Hove Albion vs Manchester City

17:04. So after all, that Huddersfield Town top the Premier League! For the time being anyway, but their fans won't care about that. What a stunning start for the promoted side.

17:03. In League Two, Yeovil and Wycombe edged out Accrington and Port Vale respectively in 3-2 thrillers, whilst Crewe recovered from being a goal and a man down to draw 1-1 against Newport County at Gresty Road.

17:01. Some thrashing's in League One, Peterborough defeating Bristol Rovers 4-1 away from home whilst Rotherham stuffed Southend 5-0 at their own ground. Oxford downed Portsmouth 3-0, whilst there was a surprise 1-0 win for Shrewsbury at AFC Wimbledon.

17:00. Having started so well, Rangers crashed to defeat at Ibrox after being reduced to ten men, losing 3-2 to Hibernian.

16:58. Some notable results coming through from the Championship; Brentford 3-4 Nottingham Forest, Cardiff 3-0 Aston Villa, Derby County 0-2 Wolves and Reading 1-1 Fulham amongst them.

16:52. Premier League full-time scores...
Chelsea 2-3 Burnley
Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield Town
Everton 1-0 Stoke City
Southampton 0-0 Swansea City

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 AFC Bournemouth

16:50. Everton clinging on against Stoke as Pickford beats away a Shaqiri effort, it looks like they'll take three home points. In the game of the day in the Championship, it's now Brentford 3-4 Notts Forest as the hosts pull one back.

16:48. Burnley not done attacking in West London! Robbie Brady whacks a free-kick against the woodwork, whilst Mayo Yoshida goes close himself with a dead-ball effort in the Southampton-Swansea game.

16:47. Morata with a flick and Luiz is there to net for Chelsea, have they left enough time for an equaliser? A couple of minutes left at Stamford Bridge.

16:46. GOAL! Chelsea 2-3 Burnley (Luiz)

16:44. Up at Elland Road, Leeds are pressing for a goal against Preston - who are down to ten men. However, that game remains goalless for the time being. One surprise is at Reading, where Fulham - another team who have had a man sent off - have equalised thanks to Lucas Piazon.

16:40. Blackburn now three down at home to Doncaster, with Oxford two-nil up at home to Portsmouth. Brentford have pulled one back at home to Forest, they trail 2-3.

16:39. RED CARD! Chelsea are down to nine, Cesc Fabregas off for a second yellow. Their squad depth wasn't brilliant to begin with, now the Blues have two suspensions to cope with!

16:38. An absolute dream start to the Premier League for Huddersfield Town, with two goals for new-boy Mounie. How many accumulators have they and Mounie busted?

16:36. GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield Town (Mounie)

16:31. Alvaro Morata has had the ball in the next again at Stamford Bridge, but the flag is up for offside.

16:27. The start of a comeback or a consolation? Either way, Morata's off the bench and amongst the goals for Chelsea. Aston Vila now three down at Cardiff, that man with the fantastic name again - Mendez Laing.

16:26. GOAL! Chelsea 1-3 Burnley (Morata)

16:25. Jermain Defoe is on at the Hawthorns as Bournemouth chase an equaliser, still one-nil down to West Brom after that first-half Hegazi header.

16:23. Remember Tomas Kalas' sending off after 30 seconds for Fulham? It's just bitten them on the backside, as Liam Kelly gives Reading a second-half lead. Elsewhere in the Championship, Bolton are level at Milwall.

16:21. One Premier League game in which the deadlock has yet to be broken, Southampton vs Swansea City. Both teams missing key want-away stars, and lacking inspiration from their front-men.

16:16. Hull further extend their lead thanks to Abel Hernandez, whilst things are getting worse for Aston Villa, two down at Cardiff as Junior Hoilett gets on the scoresheet.

16:13. Hull City back in front thanks to Kamil Grosicki, they're looking good again for a first home win of the seaosn, 2-1 up against Burton. Plymouth one up against Charlton in League One through Jake Jervis.

16:10. More Championship goals! Sheffield Wednesday draw level at home to QPR through Sam Winnall, whilst Milwall lead Bolton 1-0 thanks to George Saville's goal.

16:06. Bad news for Blackburn fans who are behind at home to Doncaster, worse news for Brentford fans at Nottingham Forest go 3-1 up at Griffin Park.

16:00. Slowly starting to get back underway in each game, what will the second halves bring?

15:55. A chance for everyone to breathe, but there's been action elsewhere. Work to do for a few teams in the Championship, with Derby, Forest and Villa all behind in matches they're hoping to take something from.

15:50. Premier League half-time scores...
Chelsea 0-3 Burnley
Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield Town
Everton 1-0 Stoke City
Southampton 0-0 Swansea City
West Bromwich Albion 1-0 AFC Bournemouth

15:46. It's the homecoming goal they all wanted, Wayne Rooney fires in for Everton to open their account for the season!

15:45. GOAL! Everton 1-0 Stoke City (Rooney)

15:45. Into stoppage time around the grounds, Nottingham Forest have completed their comeback at Brentford thanks to Daryl Murphy. 1-2 there.

15:44. It's a nightmare start for Chelsea! Three down against a team that picked up just seven points on the road last season!

15:43. GOAL! Chelsea 0-3 Burnley (Vokes)

15:41. Up in Scotland, Hibs have turned things around against Rangers and now lead 2-1, with the home side down to 10 men. Brentford led at home to Nottingham Forest briefly, but that game is now 1-1.

15:40. Well, there's been lots of speculation about Chelsea's poor summer and how it could effect their title defence and they're off to a horrendous start. Down to ten, and two down.

15:39. GOAL! Chelsea 0-2 Burnley (Ward)

15:35. Hull City have had their lead cancelled out by Burton Albion, Jackson Irvine making it 1-1 at the KCOM Stadium.

15:33. Portugal U21's, or Wolves as some say, are 1-0 up away at Derby County in a real battle of two promotion contenders.

15:32. West Brom ahead thanks to a set-piece goal, no surprise there! Birmingham have levelled it up at home to Bristol City.

15:31. GOAL! West Brom 1-0 Bournemouth (Hegazi)

15:27. Crikey, there are some coupon busters there. Ten-man Chelsea behind to Burnley whilst two goals in two minutes have left Huddersfield in absolute dreamland away at Palace, a nightmare start for De Boer. In the Championship, QPR have taken the lead away at Sheffield Wednesday.

15:25. GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-2 Huddersfield (Mounie)

15:24. GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-1 Huddersfield (Ward OG)

15:24. GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 Burnley (Vokes)

15:22. Mendez-Laing, the Cardiff player with the fantastic name, has netted the opener as the Bluebirds host Aston Villa. Rangers have been pegged back at Ibrox, Murray scoring for Hibs.

15:20. Down in League Two, Chris Dagnall has scored to help Crewe come from a man down and a goal behind to make it 1-1 against Newport County.

15:18. Tom Bradshaw with his third of the season, Barnsley 1-0 up against Ipswich in the Championship. Rotherham have made a quick start and are two goals to the good against Southend, with no Premier League goals yet.

15:13. Red card in the Premier League! Gary Cahill deals Chelsea the first blow of their title defence in his first game as official club captain, he's off after less than 15 minutes. Studs up challenge on Defour.

15:10. Shrewsbury, tipped by many for League One relegation, one up away at AFC Wimbledon. A shock on the cards?

15:06. A goal to put smiles on the faces of everyone that doesn't support Port Vale, as everyone's favourite strongman Adebayo Akinfenwa fires Wycombe ahead in their clash. Meanwhile, Hull have taken the lead against Burton through Abel Hernandez.

15:04. Goal up in Scotland, Alfredo Morelos giving Rangers a very quick lead against Hibernian.

15:01. That was a quick start. Bristol City have been tearing things up recently and they're already one up at Birmingham through Bobby Reid, with Tomas Kalas already having been sent off for Fulham against Reading.

15:00. Kick-off around the country! Who can strike an early blow?

14:58. Here we go, almost ready to go. Where will the first goal of the Premier League afternoon come from?

14:50. Just 10 minutes until the games get underway and it's a big day for Tammy Abraham, as he makes his Swansea debut in the absence of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente. Can he be their catalyst for survival?

14:40. Wayne Rooney starts for Everton at Goodison as they host Stoke, it looks like the Toffees will play a 3-4-1-2, Klassen just off Rooney and Sandro up front.

14:35. Team news is out around the ground's and a few eyebrows have been raised at Chelsea's XI with youngster Jeremie Boga included alongside Willian and Michy Batshuayi in the front three, with Alvaro Morata on the bench.

14:30. We're back and it's all go, an absolute thriller of a contest has just taken place at Vicarage Road, and we've now already seen 13 goals in just two Premier League games! Watford scored in stoppage time to tie it 3-3 against Liverpool and you can read all about it, here

That's all for now, we'll be back around 2:30PM (UK time) to round-up on the day's events so far and get stuck into the 3PM fixtures!

Of course, it's not just Premier League football that we'll be watching over today. One to keep an eye on in the Championship will be in Derbyshire, with Derby County hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers, two clubs with big promotion ambitions.

And finally, Ronald Koeman and his band of new Everton signing's host Stoke City on Merseyside, looking to get off to a good start in their pursuit of breaking into the top six.

Speaking of Southampton, they welcome Wales' only Premier League representative, Swansea City, to start their season. It's the battle of the S' on the South-Coast, with Saints skipper Virgil van Dijk not expected to play any part as he continues to wrangle for a move away.

West Brom, fresh off handing Tony Pulis a one-year contract extension, host Bournemouth at the Hawthorns, with Jay Rodriguez looking to hit the ground running following an injury-hit few years at Southampton

Elsewhere, it's a big day for Huddersfield Town as they make their Premier League bow at Crystal Palace, boss David Wagner carrying the hopes of the town as he leads his play-off winners into action. They're heavily tipped to end the season rock bottom, but the Terriers could give the first indication today that they're prepared to spring a surprise.

Looking back at today and the defending champions are in action at 3PM against Burnley, with Antonio Conte hoping to get off to the best possible start to the season with his Chelsea side, maybe even seeing new signing Alvaro Morata get amongst the goals.

Leicester had come from behind to take a 2-1 and then 3-2 lead, only for quick goals from substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud to swing the game late on.

It will certainly take something special for any of today's games to top last night's curtain raiser, as Arsenal edged out the Foxes 4-3 in an absolute thriller at the Emirates Stadium.

There are a host of fixtures up and down the country today, but all eyes will of course be on the first Saturday of the new Premier League season, which kicked off last night as Leicester City visited Arsenal.

Howdy all, and welcome to the first of VAVEL UK's brand new Saturday commentary, Saturday Football Live. I'm Oliver Emmerson, and I'll be taking you through the afternoon's action in the Premier League and elsewhere, after Watford's fixture against Liverpool, following the scores through the afternoon until Brighton and Hove Albion host Manchester City later on.
