Manchester City will be looking to build some momentum they can use to see them through to the end of the year having had a rather stop start November as they visit Germany to face Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League.
Recently, it's been a mixture of highs and lows for City, from beating FC Barcelona 3-1 to the deflating 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough just a few days later. However, a draw would do this time, as it would seal their passage to the last 16.
Last time out
City travelled to South London last weekend for a meeting with Crystal Palace, and despite being the victors on this occasion, the 1-2 score line wasn't entirely convincing with improvement being sought after by Pep Guardiola.
It was the Rhine Derby last weekend as Borussia Mönchengladbach took on FC Köln, in a hard fought game that saw Borussia hearts broken as Marcel Risse's thunderbolt of a free kick put Cologne ahead, 1-2, with minutes to spare at the end of the second half. 'Die Fohlen' are now with just one win in their last six games across all competitions.
Team news
Vincent Kompany will be absent once more after picking up a head injury against Crystal Palace, the captain reportedly left with blurred vision. Yaya Touré won't travel as he wasn't named in the Champions League squad at the start of the competition. Despite Fabian Delph and Pablo Zabaleta both active in training, neither of the pair have deemed fit enough to travel.
The only absentees for 'Die Fohlen' are Christoph Kramer and Julian Korb who are both suspended for tomorrow's fixture.
Guardiola keeping his feet on the ground
Pep Guardiola was jubilant about City's 3-1 victory over FC Barcelona last time out in the Champions League but is keeping his feet on the ground. Speaking to a packed press conference he said; “We were so happy with beating Barcelona, But it was just one game. We cannot be considered favourites to win. Maybe in 10 years but we need time to achieve that.”
On loan Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen relishes a battle against the likes of Sergio Aguero saying; "It is always great to come up against such good players and then win battles against them." - "Only after the game has finished can I judge whether I put in a good performance or not."
City will be the bookmakers favourites given the quality of players they possess however Borussia Park can be an intimidating and the hosts will need to use it to full effect.
As we've seen many times this season, the deciding factor will be can City create chances but above all, can they finish them?
