Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has backed Aron Gunnarsson ahead of Cardiff Premier League clash with Stoke City.

The Icelandic midfielder has been accused of leaking team news ahead of Cardiff's 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this month.

"We will defend his name and reputation to the edge of the cliff.

"He will be included in Saturday's squad unless he gets injured," Solskjaer said.

The Premier League are set to mull over Cardiff's complaint to decide whether any Premier League rules have been breached.

Solskjaer told reporters: "We trust the Premier League to deal with what is required."

Stoke City are enjoying Premier League life and Mark Hughes is set to guide them to their highest Premier League finish with the club sitting 10th in the league.

Despite the gap between the two sides, Hughes knows he is in for a challenge.

"They will be buoyed by their recent win at Southampton and they will be determined to build upon that.

"They are very much involved in a relegation battle, so they will be desperate to register maximum points," Hughes said.

Stoke's current league position is down to their recent form which has seen them win four in their last five league games.

Hughes said: "We are playing well and we are picking up points so it is a fixture we're looking forward to."
