Striker Lee Angol remains part of Luton Town’s plans according to the Hatters manager, John Still, who has revealed he is keen to retain Angol’s services. The two parties are due to continue their dialogue this week with a contract on the table.

Angol, 20, spent a season on loan at Conference South side Boreham Wood during last season, netting 25 times and finishing as the division’s top scorer on the way to securing promotion.

Angol has attracted Premier League attention

This form has caught the attention of some high-profile suitors and it is understood that Crystal Palace and West Ham head the hunt for the talented frontman. A host of Championship clubs including Charlton Athletic and Nottingham Forest are also keen on his services.

Having already been offered a deal to remain at Kenilworth Road, Angol looks set to turn down the offer and Luton may be resigned to losing their man, however determined they are to keep him.

Still, who has recently returned from holiday told the Luton News Herald and Post: “No-one’s approached us for him and at this time he hasn’t signed a deal.”

Luton's front line failed to fire last season

Although he has yet to make an appearance for Luton since his move from Wycombe, losing Angol would be a blow to the club's ambitions of making an assault on the League Two play-offs.

Only Mark Cullen managed to get into double figures in the last campaign (14 in all competitions) and it is felt that Angol has the promise to make the step up into first team action.

With the league fixtures announced earlier today, Luton have been told they will start their campaign away at Accrington Stanley on 8 August 2015 and are expectant having just missed out on the League Two play-offs last season. In addition to starting at Accrington, Luton have also been handed a tough home tie against Championship new boys Bristol City in the opening round of the Capital One Cup.
