Frank Lampard's Everton make the trip down the M6 to face Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.

The visitors have lost six of their last seven Premier League games and find themselves sitting just one place above the relegation zone in 17th. A late Phil Foden goal proved to be enough to give Manchester City the victory over Everton in the Toffees' last Premier League encounter.

Lampard is yet to change the fortunes of his new club, but as a former Chelsea captain, he will be looking to cause an upset in North London.

Upsets are currently something that Spurs fans will want to forget. A 1-0 defeat to the hands of Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening led to Conte calling for more consistency from his team after their 4-0 demolition of Leeds United in last weekend's league action (Daily Mail).

  • Team news

Antonio Conte did have some good news when speaking to Alasdair Gold of Football.London concerning the health of his squad.

"Yeah, [Rodrigo] Bentancur is available. The same for Lucas Moura."

However, the Italian confirmed that homegrown talents Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga remain sidelined.

"For Skipp and Tanganga, they’re still not available. We have to wait."

Lampard confirmed to Everton FC media that English striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin may be at his disposal for Monday's game.

“I’m hopeful [he will be ready for Spurs]. He is going to train with us on Saturday. I’ve just spoken to him, and he was very pleased with his session on Friday morning. Hopefully he integrates with the squad on Saturday and we will see how he is for Monday."

Midfielder Andre Gomes has recovered from a thigh problem and is in contention to start the game. Whilst Demarai Gray's recovery from a fever will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

However, Ben Godfrey (hamstring), Yerry Mina (quadriceps), Fabian Delph (thigh) and Tom Davies (hamstring) remain out for Everton.

  • Predicted lineups

Tottenham:

Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies, Doherty, Sessegnon, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Son, Kane.

Everton:

Pickford; Kenny, Holgate, Keane, Coleman, Allan, Doucoure, van de Beek, Richarlison, Gordon, Calvert-Lewin.

  • Ones to watch

The midfield battle will be where the game is won or lost on Monday evening. If Everton are allowed to get a foothold in the game, they will make it very tough for Spurs to break them down.

One man who could be influential in finding space pockets of space in the middle of the park is Bentancur. The Italian has impressed so far in N17 with his eye for a pass and willingness to take a risk in order to advance Spurs up the field.

If Spurs are to return to winning ways, the 24-year-old's positional awareness will likely play an important role.

With just two goals in their last six league matches, Everton are crying out for a goal threat.

The potential return of Calvert-Lewin to Lampard's side will comfort the blue half of Merseyside. The 6 ft 3 in striker has two goals and three assists in seven appearances against Spurs and after a frustrating injury spell, he will be hungry to fire his side to a much-needed three points.

  • Head to head

Spurs pip their rivals on the overall head to head scores. With the Lilywhites winning 68 times, and Everton just 57 times.

However, Spurs have to go back almost two years to find their last victory against Monday's opponent.

The reverse fixture on the 7th of November 2021 happened to be Antonio Conte's first Premier League game as Spurs boss. The dreary affair at Goodison Park ended 0-0.

  • Prediction

Tottenham 1 - 0 Everton.
