All eyes were on a packed Stanford Bridge after rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were tasked with having an early London Derby encounter.

The game was marred by scenes off the pitch as both backroom staff were separated on multiple occasions.

The frustration from Antonio Conte was evident throughout the game as he cut a frustrated manager watching his team devoid of ideas and being comprehensively beaten throughout the 90 minutes.

Chelsea will be on the search for a prolific striker after the performance saw them waste multiple chances to wrap up the game. They look close to being the finished article which will please Thomas Tuchel even if the result will be tough to take.

Here are the takeaways from the Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte derby.

Missed Chances

Chelsea were unplayable at times and dominated large portions of the game, boasting 64% possession and creating 96 dangerous attacks.

Lacking in one key area seems to be letting Chelsea down and it has been a problem for years - a prolific striker would complete an impressive puzzle that could battle it out for the top two positions at least.

It has been years since Chelsea could rely on a number 9 that had the striking instinct to finish chances inside the box. Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku were large signings that ultimately failed within the system that is currently being played.

They will be on the lookout for an out-and-out poacher, who will look to break the lines and has the game sense to get on the end of crosses or the cutbacks that seemed to amount to missed chances all game.

Impressive Signings for the Blues

A key component that can be taken from the game is how the new signings seem to have bedded well and have added clear talent to the squad.

Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly stepped up to the occasion. Koulibaly stood at the back and showed some great technique to crown his performance with a goal that shocked everyone, coming from a defender.

Sterling was able to give Spurs massive problems with his movement and tight control. He floated around the front three positions and occupied space allowing players to work around him which led to chances throughout the game.

Cucurella was a constant threat going forward on the left wing, providing the width and outlet that allowed Chelsea to build attacks from -  it was clear he can make the step up to a top team.

Conte's Mind Games

It was clear throughout that Conte was frustrated at his team's inability to compete with Chelsea in every zone of the pitch.

This resulted in Conte resorting to measures off the pitch to attempt to swing the game in his favour. He was able to get under the skin of the opposition, took them off their stride and allowed the Spurs a route into the game.

His gamesmanship may have resulted in a red card for his antics but he will be leaving the happier of the two managers, coming home with a point that from the outside looked hopeless.

Signings are not up to speed for Spurs

Spurs have added real quality to the side over the transfer window with more players expected. However, confusion has been ringing around the media with the refusal to start new signings.

The suggestion is that he isn't comfortable throwing these new players into the squad without them being 100% clued up with his system.

This leaves Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma sitting on the bench, despite them being markedly big improvements on players who are occupying their positions currently.

Perisic came on and showed enough in 12 minutes to prove that he is wasted on the bench. Providing an assist for the leveller should pique Conte's interest in giving him a go in the starting XI.
