Puel has also suggested that there could be plenty of rotation for the Foxes today following a hectic festive period. Jamie Vardy could be rested after hobbling off against Everton, whilst Kasper Schmeichel is likely to be rotated. Fousseni Diabate, Vicente Iborra, Adrien Silva and Andy King are all reportedly negotiating moves away so apparently will not feature. Wes Morgan could return from injury.
Team News
Newport could have a few players return to action against Leicester. Andrew Crofts and Joss Labadie will be subjected to fitness tests, whilst Matt Dolan and forward Antoine Semenyo could return.
Claude Puel on Newport...
Despite Leicester’s record in the FA Cup, Claude Puel has said he is hoping his side can avoid another upset. Talking ahead of the game, he said: “We need to be ready because I know the tradition of the cup. All the teams that are playing in different leagues, it’s important to play against Premier League team and create an upset. We know these difficulties. We need to be strong in this situation.”
Michael Flynn on Leicester...
Newport boss Flynn has said that his side are aiming to claim a scalp against the Foxes. He said: “It's a great game and a free hit for us. Nobody is expecting us to win, but nobody was expecting us to get anything against Spurs or Leeds last year. It's exciting and hopefully the boys go out there and show what they can do, because on their day they are very capable of raising their levels.”

Head-to-head
The two sides come into this game having only met on four occasions, and not at all 1947. Leicester have been dominant in the previous clashes between the two sides having notched three wins and a draw. In that time, they have scored on average two goals per game, conceding an average of 0.25 per match.
Leicester’s struggles in the FA Cup have been well broadcast, having reached the most finals without ever winning the competition. They will be hoping to go further than last year having reached the quarter-finals only to be eliminated by Chelsea in extra-time. The Foxes have only lost one out of their last 14 FA Cup clashes against lower division sides.

Whilst today is Leicester’s first venture into the FA Cup this season, the Exiles began their journey back in November. Taking on the Metropolitan Police in the first round, they squeezed through 2-0. Michael Flynn’s men got through to the third round by beating fellow Welsh outfit Wrexham 4-0 in a replay following a bore draw in the original fixture. They now have the chance to reach the fourth round for the second season in a row.
Currently sitting 12th in League Two, Newport are firmly rooted in mid-table. Christmas was a difficult period for the Exiles having only won two out of their last ten games in all competitions. They have also struggled to find the back of the net - only managing to score one goal in their last three games.
Now then, we really do have to talk about Leicester City’s form over Christmas. Claude Puel’s side faced a daunting task as they faced Chelsea, Manchester City, Cardiff City and Everton. However, they have come out the other end with nine points after three fantastic victories, despite losing to the Bluebirds at home. The latest victory came at Goodison Park as Jamie Vardy struck the winning goal. They now sit seventh in the Premier League table.
