Daniel Brückner's contract was canceled by SC Paderborn 07, David Kinsombi made the switch from Eintracht Frankfurt to Karlsruher SC and MSV Duisburg announced the arrival of Tomané on loan; a busy day even by 2. Bundesliga standards.

Trouble brewing in Paderborn

Things have been far from plain sailing for Stefan Effenberg since he took over at the Benteler-Arena.

Mahir Saglik, Srdjan Lakic and Daniel Brückner were all suspended in December and the latter has now had his contract canceled.

It is unclear where the defender will now end up, although the lack of January arrivals would suggest that they may have to make moves to compensate.

The two parties came to a mutual agreement over the termination, and it seems like he will now head to Rot-Weiß Erfurt to continue his playing career.

Kinsombi adds depth to KSC defence

After losing Jan Mauersberger to 1860 Munich, Markus Kauczinski and Jens Todt were in search of a new central defender.

That will arrive, this summer, in the form of David Kinsombi.

The talented youngster joins from Eintracht Frankfurt come the end of the season, once his loan ends with 1. FC Madgeburg.

A former German under-18 international, Kinsombi is a physical presence in defence and will no doubt be keen to get regular playing time.

With injuries continuing to strike down the KSC defence, that playing time could be more regular than anticipated.

Tomané to save the Zebras' season?

Duisburg have struggled for goals this season and are in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom of the table. Having only score 15 goals in 19 games, it's easy to see why.

The attacker, who has arrived from Vitoria in the top division in Portugal, will be with the club until the end of the season and is keen to get his new side out of trouble.
