Paris Saint-Germain are continuing to make moves for the new season as they attempt to dethrone Olympique Lyonnais from the top of French football.

Veronica Boquete and Irene Paredes are two fresh faces in the squad and will be bidding to take down the capital club's main rival for silverware.

The pair of Spanish internationals passed medicals on Wednesday and will join up with the squad later on this month at the Bougival Training Centre.

Boquete on the move again

Despite winning the Frauen-Bundesliga crown while with Bayern Munich, injuries massively hampered Boquete's game time in Bavaria.

She failed to recapture the stunning form that helped shoot 1. FFC Frankfurt to UEFA Women's Champions League glory a season previous.

The 29-year-old has played across the world and has over 50 Spanish caps to her name, bringing vital experience to the PSG side.

"She is a very technical and experienced player who is joining the club with great determination and ambition," explained PSG GM, Philippe Boindrieux.

Boquete aded, "I hope to bring my experience & determination to this squad of players. I can’t wait to begin this next step in my career. I arrive in Paris with plenty of ambition.”

Paredes swaps Bilbao for Paris

The defender played a key role in Athletic Bilbao's historic title triumph, which saw the streets of the Basque city lined in celebration.

Paredes scored an impressive 25 goals in 128 games for Bilbao, where she earned plenty of plaudits for her consistently impressive performances.

The 25-year-old has also worked her way into national team selection, making 33 appearances and scoring once for Las Soñadoras.

"Irene has just been crowned Spanish champion with Athletic Bilbao and has lived up to all the expectations placed in her in recent seasons," said Boindrieux.

Paredes herself commented, saying: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to come and play for Paris Saint-Germain."
