Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool will have a fully-fit squad available for their UEFA Champions League quarer-final clash with Benfica on Tuesday night.
The Reds travel to Lisbon having dispatched of two-time winners Inter Milan in the previous round, and are enjoying a rich vein of form in the Premier League since the turn of the year. Having trailed Manchester City by 14 points just three months ago, Klopp's men are now just a single point off Pep Guardiola and Co ahead of their decisive meeting at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.
The Liverpool manager confirmed that both Naby Keita and Curtis Jones will be in contention for selection after picking up knocks in recent weeks. Keita missed Saturday's victory over Watford, while Jones was replaced 15 minutes into the second half after expressing discomfort in his foot.
"Yes, a full squad is available, said Klopp.
"Curtis had a little swelling but that disappeared overnight. Trent is ready as well."
Carrying out his pre-match media duties ahead of the first-leg at the club's AXA training centre, when departing the press room Klopp joked about the luxry of having a full squad at his disposal for what is certain to be a season-defining couple of weeks.
"I think it's never happened before!"
The two sides haven't met in Europe's premier competition since 2006, when the Portuguese side won 3-0 over the two legs.
Somone who will be hoping to help Liverpool continue their quest for a seventh European Cup is defender Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch international has been in sensational form since he returned from his ACL injury last summer, helping the Reds secure 13 clean sheets from their 20 outings so far in 2022.
But ahead of the visit to the Portugal's capital, Van Dijk was quick to reiterate the goals he and his teammates have set out for themselves ahead of a season-defining April.
"We just want to make this season an unforgettable one, for the players, the staff and supporters," he said.
"We should just enjoy it, go there and give it our all. If it's not enough, we go again next season."
April will utimately be make-or-break for the Reds' quadruple hopes as they face as further seven games across a 25-day period, following on from their 2-0 victory over Watford on Saturday afternoon.
They face rivals Manchester City in consecutive weekends in both of the remaing domestic competitions and they'll be hoping to dust off the cobwebs from the international break with an emphatic victory over the Primeira Liga side on Tuesday.
