Stuttgart's 19-year-old winger Timo Werner is one of Germany's most promising talents - and emerges as a target for several European top clubs. He is said to have convinced many scouts that watched him in the last months, and he could be heading to a move to a bigger club soon.

Werner is the flagship of VfB's youth work, as he is the youngest Bundesliga player to make 50 appearances at the age of 18 years and 351 days and is also the youngest scorer of a brace in Bundesliga history.

Despite the fact that Timo Werner, who can also play as a centre-forward, had a disappointing season at VfB Stuttgart - he had no assist or goal in the Rückrunde and had to fight relegation until last matchday - the winner of Fritz Walter medal in 2013 has attracted the interest of Tottenham Hotspur.

According to German paper Bild, Spurs and a nameless Italian side have tabled a €10m bid for Werner. VfB manager Robin Dutt holds his cards close to his chest: "No offer has reached me."

Notwithstanding the above, he has no interest in selling the club's most promising talent. Dutt told Bild: "I already said that Timo is not for sale. Timo is a player on the way up, who has to become established and with whom we want to keep on working."

News that will be balsam for the maltreated soul of VfB's supporters.
