Borussia Dortmund have drawn VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal quarter-final as they look to go a step further, after losing out to VfL Wolfsburg in last year’s final.

Two goals in quick succession from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan was enough to see Dortmund wrap up a 2-0 win against FC Augsburg, who have picked up their form of late.

Thomas Tuchel’s men face a trip to Baden-Württemberg on 9 or 10 February to play a Stuttgart side who finished runners-up in 2013, last winning the competition in 2007.

Last time Dortmund won the competition was back in 2012 in that famous 5-2 victory over Bayern Munich, which saw a hat-trick from now Bayern forward, Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern's only goal against SV Darmstadt 98 came through Xabi Alonso’s volley from 30-yards, which has set up a tie against 2. Bundesliga side VfL Bochum.

The Bundesliga champions have already knocked out Wolfsburg and a trip to high-flying Bochum will see Munich go up against Marco Terrazzino and Simon Terodde, who has found the net on 10 occasions this season.

First-half goals from Janik Haberer and Tim Hoogland against Bayern’s rivals, 1860 Munich set up a tie with the German giants.
