Birmingham City will look to extend their unbeaten run at home when they host Queens Park Rangers.

Results against Coventry City, Bristol City and top of the table Burnley have seen the Blues claim points in their last three home fixtures.

QPR sit second in the EFL Championship table and can return to the summit with their third straight triumph after defeats of Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic.

This hasn't been a good fixture for Birmingham in recent years with the Blues having won just one of their last six home encounters against the Londoners.

Team news

Birmingham

George Friend is in contention to return as the Blues defender continues to battle a hamstring issue, but he played for the U-21 side this past week.

Gary Gardner, Przemyslaw Placheta, Nico Gordon and Marc Roberts all remain out while manager Lee Bowyer may rest Harlee Dean ahead of a busy fixture list.

QPR

Forward Chris Willock is nursing a hamstring issue with manager Michael Beale hopeful he will be available for selection.

Beale turned down the vacant manager's job with Wolverhampton Wanderers to remain in charge of the London-based side.

Jimmy Dunne remains out with a knee injury suffered earlier this month. On-loan striker Tyler Roberts has missed the last two matches, but is back in training.

Key players

Scott Hogan (Birmingham City)

Hogan leads the Blues’ scoring charts with seven goals and had chances to add to that tally against Blackburn last week. A hard-worker with the ability to set up his teammates as well as score, he's the focal point of the Birmingham attack.

Lyndon Dykes (Queens Park Rangers)

With Willock's status up in the air, the Scotsman becomes the key man for the R's. Of his five goals, three are from open play and two from the penalty spot, showing his ability to score in any situation.
