Sheffield Wednesday will look to continue their 13 game unbeaten run in League One, as the Owls travel to Buckinghamshire to face play-off chasing Wycombe Wanderers.

The Chairboys are also on a good run of late. Gareth Ainsworth's side picked up ten points from a possible 15 in December, followed by an impressive 0-3 win over Peterborough United on New Years Day.

Wycombe have not played since that victory, with the FA Cup Third Round commencing last weekend, which the Chairboys were not involved in.

One upset in the FA Cup was caused by Saturday's visitors, after Sheffield Wednesday shocked Premier League side Newcastle United at Hillsborough, to progress to Round Four.

The victory was Wednesday's fourth consecutive win in all competitions, and will therefore go into tomorrow's game full of confidence.

The Owls will look to pile the pressure on league leaders Plymouth Argyle, who themselves face a tough test away to 3rd placed Ipswich Town. The top two looks set to be between those three teams, with the gap between 3rd and 4th currently nine points.

In the other camp, Wycombe will look to continue their play-off push, as they set there sights on a return to the Championship.

Sitting in 7th, the Blues could move into the play-off spots with a win on the weekend, if results go their way.

Last years' play-off finalists are looking to go one step further this time around, after Wycombe lost out to Sunderland in last season's play-off final at Wembley.

After beating Ipswich and running Plymouth close with a much changed starting eleven, the Chairboys will fancy their chances against the Owls, who they beat 1-0 at Adams Park towards the end of last season.

Wycombe Wanderers:

Gareth Ainsworth's players will be well rested a two week break, following a congested festive period in League One.

Curtis Thompson was on the bench again after a long time out with injury, and could well be involved against Wednesday.

Alfie Mawson could return to the side after knee problems kept him out towards the end of December.

Midfielder Dominic Gape is likely to miss out, as Ainsworth looks to protect the midfielder from further injury after problems in recent years.

After Tjay De Barr collapsed following the conclusion of Plymouth Argyle vs Wycombe Wanderers. Ainsworth has stated that the Gibraltan international could be ready as soon as this Saturday, after the forward recovered well from the incident.

However, it will mostly be an almost unchanged eleven from the one that faced Peterborough United two weeks ago.

Sheffield Wednesday:

Darren Moore may have selection issues at the back ahead of tomorrow afternoon's game.

Mark McGuinness has returned to parent club Cardiff after his loan spell was ended. The central defender was a regular starter for the Owls, having played every minute in League One since mid October.

Michael Ihiekwe has also picked up an injury, with the former Rotherham man joining Ben Heneghan, who remains on the sideline.

Experienced midfielder Barry Bannan is also out with a muscle strain which he picked up against Port Vale in December.

Lee Gregory is back in the squad following a back strain sustained in Wednesday's Boxing Day win at Fleetwood.

Former Wycombe goalkeeper Cameron Dawson is likely to continue between the sticks for Sheffield Wednesday after a good run of form. Dawson has been a regular starter in the Wednesday net since mid December, keeping out another former Wycombe goalkeeper in David Stockdale.

With problems in terms of selection in the backline and midfield, we are likely to see several changes from Darren Moore.

  • Predicted Lineups

Wycombe Wanderers:Stryjek, Tafazolli, Grimmer, Jacobson, Obita, Wheeler, Scowen, Wing, Mehmeti, Vokes, McCleary (3-4-3)

Sheffield Wednesday:Dawson, James, Iorfa, Famewo, Palmer, Johnson, Byers, Byers, Vaulks, Dele-Bashiru, Smith, Windass (3-4-1-2)

  • Key Players:

Wycombe WanderersRyan Tafazolli

The Chairboys kept a clean sheet against Peterborough United on Boxing Day, and will be looking to repeat that tomorrow afternoon against the Owls.

Central-defender Ryan Tafazolli will play a big part in deciding if that happens for Wycombe.

The Iranian was a crucial part of their superb defensive display against the Posh, keeping Johson Clarke-Harris at bay in Peterborough's attack.

However, Tafazolli made a few mistakes in the previous game against Plymouth, which Gareth Ainsworth mentioned in his post-match thoughts.

Despite the slip-ups, the defender did well on New Years Day, and even got on the score sheet himself from a corner, emphasising his aerial presence at both ends of the pitch, which Sheffield Wednesday will have to deal with to have any chance of picking up three points tomorrow.

Sheffield Wednesday - Josh Windass

Sheffield Wednesday have scored seven goals in their last two games, after their wins in the FA Cup against Newcastle and in League One against Cambridge United.

Five of those have come from in-form forward Josh Windass.

Josh, son of Dean Windass, scored both goals as the Owls knocked Premier League Newcastle United out of the FA Cup.

He also scored a hattrick in their last league game, as Darren Moore's side put five past Cambridge United.

Windass has now scored eleven goals in all competitions, and will look to add to that at Adams Park on the weekend.
