Tottenham Hotspur travel to Marseille on Tuesday night knowing that a draw will see them qualify for the knockout stages. The North London side were cruelly denied qualification last week due to a VAR decision, but it is still in their hands going into the final matchday.

In the return fixture, the Lilywhites beat Marseille 2-0, thanks to a double from Richarlison. Antonio Conte will be hoping for the same result in France, without the help of the Brazilian.

The French side currently sit bottom of group D, however they know that a win against Spurs would see them qualify for the knockout stages. The pressure is on for both sides, due to every position still being undecided in this hotly contested Champions League group.

Marseille

Marseille will have centre-back Samuel Gigot back for Tuesday's game after the 29-year-old missed out at the weekend through suspension. However, Sead Kolasinac has likely done enough to hold his place in the backline.

Only Eric Bailly should be missing through injury for Marseille, with the Manchester United loanee still recovering from a thigh problem. It's a bitter blow for the French side, but they know the likes of Gigot will step up in Bailly's absence.

It is expected there will be a large Arsenal contingency for the hosts. Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Guendouzi, Nuno Taveres and Kolasinac all expected to start.

Tottenham Hotspur

The visitors seem to be continuing to struggle with their injury struggles. Richarlison is set to miss the match due to an ongoing calf problem. Meanwhile, attacking partner Dejan Kulusevski is set to miss another match due to a hamstring injury.

Cristian Romero missed Spurs' win over Bournemouth at the weekend, and did not train with the squad on Monday. It is likely that the Argentine will not feature for Conte's side.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic all came off the bench at the weekend, but it is likely the trio will feature in the starting lineup in France. It's a crucial match for Tottenham's season, so it is expected the lineup will be as strong as possible.

  • Key Players

Marseille - Alexis Sanchez

The French side are going to have to be at their best if they want to beat the North London side, and the forward may play a key part in that happening.

The winger missed the return fixture against the Lilywhites, however he will be raring to go in the final matchday. Sanchez has a long history against Spurs due to his history at Arsenal. Although his record against Tottenham is not particularly impressive (four goals in ten games), Spurs fans will still be fearing a star performance from the Chilean.

This season, Sanchez is Marseille's top scorer with four goals. The French side have struggled to hit form this season, but that can all change on Tuesday if Sanchez can roll back the years.

Tottenham Hotspur - Rodrigo Bentancur

In recent years, all the talk at Spurs has been about Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son. The dynamic partnership were (and still are) key to how their side played. However, in recent weeks, a new star player has emerged into the ranks.

Since arriving in January, Bentancur has been a consistent performance for Conte, however, his performances have reached another level recently. The midfielder scored a crucial equaliser against Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday, and he then scored a last-minute winner against the Cherries on Saturday.

The Uruguayan controls the game beautifully, and is key to Spurs' transition from defence to attack. If the former Juventus player continues this form, then an away victory for the North London side is very likely.
